If you never have been to Devils Lake, you need to come and if you never have stayed at Spirit Water, you need to!
Clearly some of these reviews are made by friends not customers, as no one in their right mind would give this place 5 stars.

Steve (owner of Spirit Water Inn Resort) gave up the one space we could use to accomodate our 44' fifth wheel which left us homeless 4th of July weekend. It's a great thing that Gill's Bar and Grill, and also the GREAT patrons of Gill's where there to help us out! This is not a campground and NOTHING close to resembling a resort, this is 10 spot place to park with zero accomodations. Would NOT recommend Spirit Water Inn Resort to my worst enemy or anyone whatsoever. I will highly recommend stopping into Gills Bar and Grill for great food, service and people! Thank You So Much to the Awesome people of Minnewaukan, ND for helping us out on what could of been a ruined weekend, but because of you, we had a blast!!
This place was so misrepresented that we could not even stay in our cabin. We booked well in advance and when we arrived at 5:30 pm, after driving for 11 hours we found that the cabin was not ready. We had unloaded our vehicle outside the door expecting it to be ready for us to occupy. We waited outside for 1 1/2 hours (not even kidding) for the cleaning lady to be done, during which time it rained on us and our belongings while we stood outside. When we were finally able to go in and have a good look around we were met by such a strong stench of bleach and cleaning chemicals that it was had to breath and I had a headache almost instantly. We could not open the window to let the stench out because there was no screen, the TV did not work, the fridge did not work and the air conditioner did not work either. There were stains on the throw carpets covering the painted concrete floors and there were centipedes and some other unknown bugs crawling on the floors. We tried to make the best of it and stay but we only lasted 15 minutes after the supposed cleaning lady finished, it was just so DISGUSTING that we packed up and left, and while the cabins are pet friendly, it was not good enough even for our dog. Oh and to let you know how bad they felt about deceiving us and taking our money for this complete lie of a cabin and uninhabitable accommodations, we were NOT even given our money back. He kept it.
